We manufacture 11KW – 800KW Air-Cooled R-Core Autotransformer Starters based on Korndorfer Closed Circuit Principle and Primary Switch-Off Module.

R-Core 3-Phase Auto-transformers are designed for applications that require superior performance offered by solid core technology. Unlike the familiar Core Type technology, the “R” core is made from a strip of high quality, grain oriented silicon steel. The strip is wound tightly like a fully wound clock spring, forming a core with a circular cross section. The R-Core has the basic Core Type shape but does not have the air gaps common to it. The R-Core based Auto-transformers are designed for applications where small size and weight, low flux leakage, high efficiency, quiet operation, low temperature rise, easy handling and no maintenance are important design considerations for electric power transformation. Development of 3-Phase R-Core Auto-transformer technology is a paradigm shift, and a serious step forward in electrical engineering.  It has the potential to revolutionaries the entire electrical power supply industry.

The Air-cooled R-Core Auto-Transformer based controllers are used in all applications that involve Squirrel-Cage Induction Motors such as, applications involving pump sets, inertia loads and frictional loads. These controllers are a trouble free and modern alternative to Soft Starters, conventional Auto-transformer Starters and Star-Delta Starters.  They also offer a considerable reduction in size and weight as compared to conventional Auto-transformer based starters.

The technology is also based on Korndorfer Closed Transition Principle with Primary-Off Logic which eliminates transients between the change-over from ATS to DOL.  The Auto-transformer acts as a choke in the transition mode, providing extra energy, thus possessing the capability to reduce the motor size in case of high initial torque and friction applications.  As a result, these controllers guarantee a much longer life to the motor, the machinery connected to it and appliances that are in its vicinity.

These controllers only require one cable to run from itself to the motor thereby providing uniform current at reduced resistance to the motor.  As a result ,in comparison to star delta starters, a savings of between 2% and 7% in power consumption can be established, depending upon the application and cable length. The elimination of one cable also reduces the initial capital cost incurred at set-up. Our Starters are most suitable for high inertia and high torque applications.  Slip-Ring Motors can now be replaced with Squirrel Cage Induction Motors installed on our ME Auto-transformer Starters because our starters, incorporated with Squirrel Cage Induction Motors, can provide the same high starting torques that are provided by Slip-Ring Motors. An additional power savings can be established because the efficiency of the Squirrel Cage Motor is 93% as compared to the lower 87% efficiency of the Slip-Ring Motor.

We follow all the guidelines of IS 13947 Part IV. The products are made as per IS and IEC Standards with Teflon insulated Silver plated wiring, ABB/Schneider switchgear, RITTAL enclosures and optional RS232/485 ports for online real-time data collection, motor control and management.
